Award winning professional comedian Áine Gallagher has been performing and touring on the international comedy circuit for 10 years. She has performed solo shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Comedy Store London, Vodafone International Festival, Kilkenny Cat Laughs and the Dublin Fringe Festival. In 2020 she produced her debut online series ‘Irish Matters’ and in recent years she has supported top international acts such as Tommy Tiernan, Deirdre O’Kane, Neil Delamere, Alison Spittle, Phil Jupitus and David O’Doherty, who also states that “Áine is cool”.
From 2016 until 2019 she was the Creative Director and training facilitator for Bright Club Ireland, a comedy club supporting people in academia to perform comedy and develop communication skills. Here she worked with more than 200 people to provide comedy and performance training. She was also one of the founding partners of Funny Women Ireland, delivering all training workshops in 2017 and 2018. Since moving to Berlin in 2019, she is now a regular tutor with Berlin Stand Up School.
Her comedy has been described as ‘divinely awkward’, ‘fresh’ and ‘exciting’. She is passionate about creating and promoting more diversity within the context of stand up comedy and is a huge advocate of risk taking and committing to your own observations and ideas.
